My poem "The Quietness In The Middle Of The Night 2" is about as the towns folks are asleep in the middle of the night, the state DOT road crews are preparing for the approaching storm by treating the roads for the slippery ice and snow....
"THE QUIETNESS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT 2" It was the middle of the night All was very quiet and calm The calm before the storm delight There yet was not need for alarm Before the snow from the west Would begin in fury and earnest Nothing was moving about on the roads Except for the state DOT Trucks Salting and brining the local roads Helping drivers avoid getting stuck Before the storm would bring a mess And the drivers would go amuck In the very icy and slippery mess
