My poem "His Concern And Love For her" is about 2 friends, whom the man is aware that his female friend wants more than friendship and companionship and would eventually tie the knot with him....
"HIS CONCERN AND LOVE FOR HER" They were just good friends And he enjoyed her friendship But she wanted to be more than friends And more than his companionship He knew of her deep concerns He knew more would be involved And as he continued to learn That tying the knot would evolve

I thought I commented here already. To me, it sounds like the man is a reluctant lover. He would instead remain a friend. But then he learns what marriage involved. I guess he changes his mind. Some men, even women, are afraid of commitment.
