Sandie Angel....Actually, years ago (Late 1970's) I avoided getting involved in any way with Haiku....But over the years, like a lot of things, my view of Haiku changed and when I started writing again (2005) I embraced it thanks to Poetry.com....
As for my view of the Japanese, they are a very refined culture and I have more positive thoughts about the Japanese that I do of Americans, who a lot of times look upon them very negatively....
I'm actually NOT fond of Japanese Haiku's or Senyru's poetry. I think it's because it lacks depth and structure. It is incapable of allowing the readers to feel for the authors because this type of poetry lacks expression of emotions from the authors.
I used to think this is only spoken when a Japanese wakes up in the morning, stretches and yawns, and then says a few words and splits it up in three lines to call it a Haiku, which causes shame to the poetry world.
Anyway, the above is only my humble opinion. I've got to say it, otherwise, I would grind my teeth for the whole day.
Inspirational poetry, written from the heart and soul. Verses that are well-suited for reading on a rainy day and that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
Contraband Marriage, traveling along the hemline of loving after incarceration, is a love story written in lyric and free form, set in reality with a different ever after.
