My prose / poem "A Day....July 4, 1976----Midnight At Valley Forge" is about midnight on July 4, 1976 at Valley Forge when a huge fireworks display ushered in the celebration of our nations bicentennial celebration. My poem is in my poetry book "The Journey Through My Life".
"A DAY....JULY 4, 1976----MIDNIGHT AT VALLEY FORGE" The historic park at Valley Forge Was lined with encampments From every state in the union At the stroke of midnight Not only would it be the Fourth The Bicentennial birthday But the park at Valley Forge Would become a national park At rhe stroke of midnight the most magnificent Fireworks show and display of all Was a spectacular sight It was with loud booms That could be heard and felt For miles and miles around

I couldn't make it there, probably because I didn't know it happened. But I do recall the unique look of my West Virginia license plates than the passport with the special cover that I took with me around the world.
