I agree. Too many feel they have to thank for every little gesture. Thanking should be reserved for those that have provided true service. Thank you for pointing that out in this poem.
I always say thank you after someone done something nice for me. I doubt if the one whom I thanked would give it any thought that my thank you was sincere. It's just a common courtesy that we say thank you!
