I've felt the hand of cruel intention,
Scratching lies beneath my skin…
I've tasted fear that ran like rivers,
Drowning me from deep within.

I've languished far too long in shadows,
Felt my spirit start to fade…
Been shackled by the arms of hatred
Crushing vows that once were made.

I've felt the twisted ropes of madness
Probe its fingers through my mind…
Raking nails against my sanity
Within the ties that bind.

But on my knees inside the darkness
Prayers were heard though lips were sealed…
My inner eye had been awakened,
Freedom's path had been revealed.

Now I dance within the shadows
In my faith I'll always stand…
I'll not be crushed beneath the gnarled fist
Of Evil's heavy hand.

No longer will I waste away
Imprisoned by oppression…
The power to change my course in life
I hold in my possession.
