In his eyes I find a strength
That swirls amidst the green and brown…
Though life has dealt a different hand
He never lets it drag him down.

They say he has an extra chromosome,
You see him differently…
But he will never know the meaning
Of his disability.

For he is able to see purpose,
Climbs each mountain big or small…
Faces challenge with such fervor
When his back’s against the wall.

The light of heaven he embraces
Gets back up when his feet stumble…
Lesser men would just succumb
And watch their whole world start to crumble.

You may think that his mind's simple
Yet his wisdom’s from above…
And while he knows the taunts and stares
He’ll give you back the Father’s love.

Now you can look at him with pity
Thinking he is less than you…
But every life has it’s own meaning
If we’ll only see it through.

While you may think he’s always happy,
He has ups and downs the same…
Seeing right through sympathy,
He feels the sorrow and the shame.

A mighty warrior of the living,
Worthy of a kingdom’s crown…
Just keeps on loving every person,
Even those who put him down.
