THE EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER

The emotional roller coaster
has it’s ups and downs;
Just like the real ones,
Which are surrounded by clowns.

You don’t have to wait
or stand in line,
But it’s not all fun and games;
it might not even
be a good time.

The emotional roller coaster
is quite a wild ride!
You’ll have a few smiles,
and perhaps a few laughs,
But then just as surely,
your hopes and dreams will be dashed.

You don’t have to wonder,
where will be the next thrill;
Because undoubtedly,
the ride with it’s dips and curves,
Will give you lots of chills.

There are lots of dips,
and lots of fights,
so just try to hang on tight
for dear life!

The emotional roller coaster
has quite a large rumble;
A shaker, a baker,
all jumbled and tumbled.

Your emotions will be
the main passengers here.
So hang on, hold tight,
and be prepared
To shed lots of tears.

The wild ride will take you
as high as the sky;
It will take you back to long for
tasting Mom’s apple pie.

Your insides will shake,
they will tumble and roll;
Your mind thoughts will shatter,
And be out of control.

The emotional roller coaster
will touch all the highs,
even all the lows;
It will distribute the thrills and the chills
With uneven blows.

Your stomach will sicken;
Your mind, it will falter.
It will make you wonder rationally,
What was it that made you
walk to the alter.

Your mind, it will question,
just where you went wrong;
Was it when you first got in line,
Or was it further along?

Your heart, it will flutter,
and even miss a few beats.
The palpitations and stutters,
will heave ho
And give you the creeps.

Your mind, will feel shattered,
The logic it had summoned;
When no logic there stands,
In the air where it’s drummin’.

The emotional roller coaster
skips and clatters along,
On the tracks so precariously placed
on high hills.
While others nearby,
in their seats, now sit high,
Waiting their turn for their dips, and their thrills.

There is always something
around each corner of life that seems new;
Each time you climb into the seat
at either end, for the view.

You can ride at the beginning,
you can ride at the end,
But either way, the thrilling, chilling, journey
Will begin and will end.

You will have the high hills,
where you’ll barely creep
and slowly climb
the steep tread.
Where you’ll experience life
with all it’s wonders,
all it’s dread.

You’ll climb on, and hang on,
hoping for the best;
Clutching and clenching to life’s
Greatest zests and contests.

The crowd around you chatters,
you hear all their whining;
And despite all your screams and fears,
The sun will still be shining.

After you harshly and suddenly arrive,
At the gate of departure where it all has to end,
You’ll think back and wonder,
When your spinning head starts to clear,
Just what all those deep plunges,
and twists and turns
Made you fear.

The ride, it was thrilling,
full of tight curves, and deep dips.
Your head, it was spinning,
and your heart did a few flips.
But now, looking back,
all in all, it’s been fun,
but like all of life’s
Wild rides and adventures,
the ride is now done.

The wildness, the craziness,
the thrills, pains, and glory,
Have all come to a closing,
the end of a story.
Where there were the victims,
the heroes, and heroines.

But now, as quickly and quietly
as it all began,
The twists and the jolts
have all come to the sudden end.

Was it worth it, you ask…
The price of the ticket?
Was it so eventful and challenging
in the middle of the thicket?

Would you choose the same ride,
Or pick yet another,
If the line had been longer,
Or perhaps another, been shorter?

Would you climb aboard again?
In addition, strap yourself in?
To be jostled and jolted,
To such a quick and sudden end?

Was it worth the price of the ticket
you received?
Was it free, or did it cost you
or perhaps another,
Who still grieves?

Did you enjoy the ride, and give it your best?
Was it full of surprises?
Did it have enough zest?

And now, when the emotional roller coaster
finally stops,
Are there others left stranded
in cars at the top?

Have you managed to keep
all your tramcars together?
While winding, and dipping
your way to forever?
