It’s always good to have the time,
To sit or lay or to stand and pray,
To the Lord, My God, and creator.
But we all know, how nearly impossible it can be to capture this needed time.
So here’s what I say, Let’s just take it away; the time stolen from all the peripheral activities, that tend to keep us off our course and so badly distracted.
Let’s reclaim our time,
That God kindly give us,
To return to Him, a thank you or two;
To ask for His guidance, and wisdom, and patience,
In watching over those like you and I.
Our worlds get so busy, and bustling, and bitter;
We get so depleted, and our nerves start to jitter.
When we are just robbing our days from their glory,
By changing, and striving, wrestling and fighting,
With the King, our story.
We should actively work to budget out time,
To share with our Lord, and totally unwind.
He cares more for us that anyone else;
More for us than we care for ourselves.
It is so comforting and peaceful,
Once we relinquish our will to His loving, open arms.
He comforts us and soothes the pain, heals our wounds, and makes it plain,
Just what and where we need to be, and for most of us,
That would be on our knees.
Just think how much a better place it would be,
If everyone would daily,
Spend time on their knees;
To thank our lord, and praise His name;
To proclaim His story, His suffered pain.
He knows each one of us, personally,
And would welcome us all,
Even not on our knees.
He shelters us all, twenty-four, seven,
Although we cannot fit Him in after eleven.
We need to focus on changing our ways,
And make time for our maker in each of our days.
