This is a poem I wrote to display in my Gallery of Feminine Treasures Boutique in describing some of my paintings, statues, etc. that are for sale.
The girls were all gathered,
their faces did shine,
with cheek blush and lip gloss,
eyes painted delicately, yet so divine.
Their hair was so graceful
as it curled softly round their faces;
their arms traced their curves
as they draped around bodies so gracious;
culminating in delicate fingers,
holding purses to keep laps in their places.
Their frocks were trimmed with laces and pearls,
layered in folds of the finest and richest of Earls.
The ribbons that decorated their locks were a’ shining;
reflecting the attitude of the ladies at mining.
The jewels and pearls, glass beads and gems
were dripping in shine;
from the latest and finest of machinery and men,
they were mined;
for the girls to wear and decorate themselves,
as though they were dressed by fairies, angels, and elves.
Now all of them sat on a special petal or rock;
a pedestal of specialty, created especially for them;
displaying all their finery while singing their hymns.
Hymns of praise to and of the creator above,
who gave men and women the intelligence, talent, and gifts,
of art, taste, love, and perfection, to mine and to sift,
methods and madness in techniques old and new,
perfection created in these girls, especially for you to view.
The girls are different and special,
each one in her own way,
so as to capture your individual attention today.
“Take me home with you,
and I’ll make you glad you did”, they cry out to you,
as you pass each one, and they come into view,
your eyes are refreshed, and your heart renewed.
“I’ll make your home special and lovely, it’s true ,
as I give you many hours and angles of me, to view.”
“You’ll delight in my delicately painted face and frock,
as I sit highly perched on your table, mantel, or marble rock;
gracing it with poise and beauty many will see and concur,
I’m truly a cutie, while still being demur.”
“So please feel free to purchase or buy,
a figurine so special to please your heart and your eye.
For how will you know beyond any doubt what I say,
if you don’t buy me and try me on your shelf or table display?”
