*I Did Not Know* I did not know That when I said goodbye Goodbye would be forever. I did not pause To breathe you in, To hold you safe within The circle of my love. I did not stop to watch You walk away, To note your gait, The smile you flashed on turning. I did not know, How could I know God had his hand Outstretched and waiting? No better memory could you write. So many lives lost without a goodbye to anyone but lifted up into God's care forever too.
