I would've never guessed the winner. But the Academy has learned that it must be all-inclusive and was about to show it with the awards. By some luck of the draw, I got to see Top Gun: Maverick, an unlikely tale of an aging hero's stowing away on an aging jet fighter, only to become a hero by boldly stealing an aging American jet fighter that should have been destroyed along with the runway that he took off on. The kind of stuff to get the theater audience to stand up and cheer the good old USA!

I also got to see Elvis. When I saw the actor on the champagne carpet, I was surprised at how he looked and sounded. I certainly had to hand it to makeup and wardrobe, as well as voice dubbing, for him to come out looking and sounding better than Elvis and actually doing that leg and arm thing better in my opinion.

As usual, your full inclusion of all of the candidates for best motion picture and your beautiful rhyming scheme that gave a little bit about each, was spot on.

You do have a calling, Betty. Very consistent in your output too. Kudos for that. Haven't watched any of these films. We're not much interested anymore in what Hollywood is producing.
