I'm glad you're honoring her here. Good caretakers can make our lives much better. After 30 years of being able to continue living comfortably and eating well in my own home I am so grateful for the care that I get.

Happy birthday Maria!
You reminded me of my first caretaker. Maria Del Carmen Lopez, a plastic surgeon from Ecuador. She put her hands on her hips and said… "Ron, I will cook you anything, even American… Whatever you like." She ended up spending a week in my tree out front, pruning it beautifully with a small saw.
