Remember the old saying “East is East and West is West”

I will put that to the test, to see what happened to the rest.

Let’s turn north today, and enjoy the view along the way,

Rivers, lakes and open fields, lets see what else this yields,

By going north instead of west, let’s see which is the best.

On a compass it shows northwest so where is due west

Now that old saying doesn’t pass the test,

And then that compass says there’s northeast too              Who the heck is kidding who, I don’t what to say to you.

Am confusing you, or is it my meaning you misconstrue ?

Well it’s not you I fear, I’ve no idea what I’ve written here

Has this old boy his marbles lost or just writing at any cost?

It was written to make you scratch your head, wondering where these words have led.
