Memories of my childhood home on the day of my father's passing.
it is a two story house not upscale
out front is no sign for sale
302 Laws Street is its beat
for seventy years on was the home
of my mother and dad
mine as a lad
this December day father Earl
has gone forever away
his journey and stay now in yesterday
mother Gladys resides there alone now
over the the years children four
did run in and out the doors
to play grow and move away
grandchildren made their way too
this place to visit play, overnight stay
at 302 Laws Street cedar shakes
from the past whispering memories, regrets
life in review old new through and through
shakes of aging cedar
part of my life sifting through to review
shakes of cedar I know you
but to a family new
what stories will you make
for their lifelong review
