Ancient songs and melodies, the first forms of romantic lore.

Ancient melodies drift

From shrouded peaks

Soul stirring vibrato, calls out

Listen I speak

My history carried

Within this moving song

I share it with you

To the ages it belongs

Tinya, kenacho, siku-malta

Stirring the air

The story will be told

By them, everywhere

Ancient quenacho flutes

Plant the seed

Wisdom for the ears

Of all generations to heed

Charango strings strummed

Notes of love, inded

Compassion, wine of the soul

Commanding, understanmding

Who they were

Those that came before you

Share their story

Pass along their ancient view

Your story becomes entwined

Enlisting anew

Those that will share

The passions of our view

Ancient melodies

That will rise from the valley floor

And drift from shrouded peaks

Forever more

You have very effectively conveyed the aura/mystique/beauty of Andean melodies, Jon. Your verses take me there. Thank you, my friend. Love and peace to you,

Regis

The Andean melodies fill my heart with such a peacefulness, especially the wooden flutes. This rests my mind as I get ready to retire for the night. Thank you.

God bless you. Kathy

Not familiar with this, but makes me think of the steel drums or Hawaiian dancers of culture and stories told thru music.
Excellent

Still Living on my Feet by Tichaona Chinyelu

Still Living on my Feet is the follow up to Tichaona Chinyelu’s first book, In the Whirlwind, which was rooted in a sense of hard-hitting revolutionary black love. However, in this sophomore effort, Tichaona brings the revolutionary essence from deep
