A tribute to my grandchildren's academic efforts in grade school.

You are

Purest dust from a shooting star

All of the magic contained therein

You're boundless, reach out with passion

Touch the face of the tomorrows

Know that within you lies the power

Of the knowledgeable, the very wise

Only your doubt can give it disguise

Be not lured, tempted to the back gate

By the easy route

At best, it is a simple hoot

It will not sate your imagination

It will not foster unbridled creation

In your haste to become an adult

Do not your own intelligenc insult

Free your mind to absorb from the learned

Pass-by the taste of the simple man

When the star dust begins to illuminate

Your aura will be pure, obvious to all

'Til the time is right, struggle, struggle

With all of your might to keep it

All perfecrtly right

The true joy of life will explode from within

All effotrs expended before

Will have led you to the right shore
