Neath swaying royal palms we lay
On sands of cocaine white to play
Cloudless skies of azure blue
The waves awash in same hue
Of angst we had nary a clue
In brown tanned skin we youthful two
Others existence meaningless
We would not have ventured a guess
There were no tests, no unrest
This was to be our lives at their best
Here we should have built our love nest
Passed the time away out of harm's way
'Til we turned back into clay
What led us away
Astray from that life of play
Damned blatant, ignorance of curiosity
Fools with noses desirous of the unknown
Heads wreaking with painful porosity
Plodding directly into the path of mediocrity
Once exposed, never to return
Life now fraught with angst, tests, unrest
We had now fostered with such ilk as
Masters of the art of mundane
Civilized lemmings in a boorish rain
A hellish refrain
