The essence of us.

This aging body I wear is not mine

But a most gracious gift

In mid-life I was provided with a body svelte

I strolled boldly, that younger body I felt

Ah, in youth I was given a body golden

Young, vibrant, invincible surely, I thought

Thru the phases of my life

My bodies, gifts to use

Only the gleam within my eyes

Has been truly mine

Throughout this time

Enabling motility for my soul

When I am no more

The bodies that have protected the soul of me

Shall be returned

And I will be as before

The gleam, within the eyes of me

What an exquisite and vibrant write!
Age is age, so it goes, every turn an adventure with a thousands opportunities for a chuckle at self. The other day the kid said her friends thought I was 20 so I go, did you tell em how mommy threw out her back sneezing and popped a blood vessel in the eye coughing? ;) lol I love aging, it's a giggle~fest!
