Do we act as we profess?

Fixed stare

disbelief or apathy

your hand never

reaching out

touching

your

fellow man

in dire need

what speaks this

of humanity's

creed

for compassion

is there

no seed

Very wise and expressed with dignity. So much suffering and never enough hands extended. Far too many concerned with the "me" at the cost of the "we"....

Be always safe,

People these days are growing cold hard hearts.
I know a few religious folks who wouldn't
give anyone the time of day.
Thanks for the message

If we aren't helping someone in some small way that is possible for us [and we as individuals can do only so much], then why are we living? Why are we allowed to be living?

Jon, I applaud the poet's skill in this
plea for compassion. I have to believe
that there are still good people among us
who care. - gene.

Excellent commentary on today's society - no one gives a rip anymore, unless it's about them - sad. Very well penned.

True!
Often, the only thing that reaches out is those piercing darts thrown from those staring eyes. Very painful!
Love the write, though!
Best,

Jon,
Look Out Because I Am A Reacher :)
This write does speak volumes, false fronts are of no use in lending the actual hand of reaching, actions always speak louder than words.
Homelessness for example is not a choice. (Some people don't see that though) This man lost his job & family lifestye which was just one payday away....horrible.
