Time has measure our steps
firmness of flesh
took leave on the autumn winds
locks of auburn and gold
wasked away in the fickled sands
of youth's ebbing tide
nature's blessings have turned us
a shoulder now cold
in the sea of humanity
we travel not at the crest
of the bold waves
but pool at the far shore's edge
tranquility we once viewed
in arrogant disdain
now blankets our peaceful domain
the innnate comfort
we note as self evident
rabid competition of posturing
resides in our scrapbooks and photos
kudos, who knows
while we luxuriate in observations
of the same amongst
youthful combatants
who still folly, sloshing in the mud
of trivial pursuits
piteous laments say you?
nay say we
mere observations
of games we too played
our daily prayers now
a simple, bring us another sunrise
to those succeeding us we say
watch keenly
for the intrepid winds of autumn
will soon be upon you
from out of nowhere's domain
Ron
