Dim light stirs imagination, quiets the soul.

Figures in peaceful pose

parade in poignant silence

no charade, no guise

for they enter

then silenty fade into dim light

the nighttime of daylight's graying haze

what processions are these visions?

angelic guests

come to comfort my insecure soul

nay, I know their names

and yet,each face eludes recognition

apparitions, specters, anomalies of my imagination

sojourners from mystical emanations

the family of humanities past

my senses are now in full rush

piqued by the innocent march

of my immense ignorance

did I too exist in their place?

will I soon reside there?

in the hush of this silent radiance

my mind traverses between times

of eternal space

there on my gown of white

over my heart

now rests

beads of serene grace

in the hush of dim light

I shall know only peace

Jon
this is a lovely surrendering poem to embrace the gifts of peace
sweetly your words soften the heart & soul:

"there on my gown of white

over my heart

now rests

beads of serene grace

in the hush of dim light

I shall know only peace"

Thank You for the Gifts of You!

I used to stay late in the evening at Brazos Bend State Park. As darkness fell, the heat of day gave way to the warmth of night and the mist would rise in the fading apparatations of the glooming of perspective of oaks and Spanish moss. Marsh critters, owls, and booming alligators would raise a din to match the mystery of the night.

Jon,

Serenity in these lines - there is a release, a freedom: kind of what I had this weekend at our church retreat - well done.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

What a beautiful title, Jon. And the poetry, the pure poetry
of your words sweeps me along on your quest for serenity, for
the peace we all seek. Thank you for this, my friend. -gene.
