Dedicated to my friend, Abdi-Noor Haji Mohamed, the den's emissary for world peace.

In transition

plodding across the morass of humankind

mighty epidemics of peace erupt

never achieving pandemic status

'til once again greed's asylum

is overwhelmed by myopic men

unable to grasp reality's concept

those who walk the walk

of overt deceit are destined to trail behind

the wagons of humiliation

unnoticed are trellises in the garden of friendship

offering support to all fledgling neighbors of peace

now will the wagons of men of little ambition

be circled in defense of the disgruntled and greedy

again pride is the skirmish line

seperating man from intelligent activities

few are willing to kneel to the call for human kindness

shouts of secrets in whisper's volume

circulate among clasped ears of evil

peace trembles in the quake of defenselessness

from the oppressed goes forth a call for understanding

the winds carry no replies

the halls that enchant a wicked few

are lighted with the torches of beguilement

the proliferation of discontent

now ranges over earth and tide

in the end

with prophecies' fulfillment we shall each abide

peace will rein victorious

among the great ignorance that is the whole of makind

We humans...think peace is an afforded luxury bought by violence...Was it John Lennon who said "give peace a chance" sounds good to me...Gerard

I am greatly honored to have been offered such a magnificient tribute by a friend whose words glow in the heart like a moon of glory and touch the soul with a breath of peace. I save this poem, John and print it out as well to let it hang on the walls of my office and the walls of institutions dealing with peace and human rights issues at a global scale. What a joy to have inspired you to write such a jewel!

Another masterpiece! Beautiful! I am confident "peace will reign victorious among the great ignorance that is in the world of mankind." this also brings to mind, three simple words spoken by the Prince of Peace... "Peace, be still!" Blessings!

Metaphors galore! Let us hope that the pandemic of peace comes soon to those immunized by greed and intolerance.

and women of peace. The time has come to wipe out "the great
ignorance" and all enemies of peace. -gene.
