The environs of our youth dwell forever in our hearts and minds.

Bridge Branch,haunt of my imagination

ancient pathways cross there

flat land of the Piedmont Plateau

my soul shall always wander that village

among the simple folk of Celtic origins

great love poured into my life, in Bridge Branch

familial love, neighborly love

steeped into every corner of my heart

faces rendering many kind embraces

from my childhood steps

to the slowing steps of age

in the book of who I am

upon every page, memories I hold dear

Bridge Branch, always near

for me to reach out and touch

grassy fields where I lay upon my back gazing

into great white clouds

as I dreamt the dreams of youth

sidewalks where my love and I

strolled, our children at hand

inhabitants we knew

on a fist name basis

life's pace was gentle, in Bridge Branch

time carried not the stigma of foe

though the pages turn in unceasing flow

the flesh of me will dust away

the soul of me will rest

in the quaintness of, Bridge Branch

The havens of my youth varied. Wausau was special, but the others were raised from hardscrabble to worth by memories of good times.
