From my daily five minute drill.

Once upon a summertime

love invaded my heart's rhythm

until that time

no sweeter melody had danced

into the sunny haunts

of my vulnerabilities

sienna eyes hiding secrets I sought

infatuation masquerading

with the sophistication of love

at first sight

her stark beauty

moved me firmly into the grips

of my own boyish insensibilities

never had feminine beauty

shaken me with such authority

her attraction was fixed firmly on me

young eyes engaging in intense desires

romance skipped in and invaded

teenage hearts

sensibility would shortly prevail

youth's first flirtation with love

we both soon recognized

as serious play better left unmade

her beauty and the moment

still dwell vividly in the sunny haunts

of my adult vulnerabilities

I TOOK A MOMENT AND THOUGHT BACK ON MY FIRST EXPERIENCE OF LOVE...YOUNG LOVE. THE INNOCENCE, THE ANXIETY, THE TENSION...THE UPSIDE AND SLIDE...NOT UNDERSTANDING THE DEPTH OF ANYTHING BUT ENCASED IN THE FIRST LAYER OF IT...ALL PHYSICAL, NOTHING ENDEARING ABOUT IT AT ALL. WHEW! THE PLAY ON THE EMOTIONS WAS TERRIBLE! THANK GOD FOR THE REAL THING. AND THOUGH I EVENTUALLY EXPERIENCED HEART ACHE LIKE I'VE NEVER KNOWN I STILL REMEMBER... THE GOOD THINGS; THE LOOK, FEEL, TOUCH...'AIR' OF LOVE THAT I'LL NEVER FORGET, NOR, DO I EVER WANT TO. PEOPLE ARE SO DIFFERENT. THEY CAN BE IN THE SAME ROOM YET LOOK AT IT ENTIRELY DIFFERENTLY. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Sounds familiar. Only I missed my opportunity with our own Shirley Temple (she still is) for the bronzed blonde bound for Hollywood, too thick headed to be anything but a pinup of wasted lust.

Those were the days...

To this I can completely relate, Jon. One never forgets a meaningful encounter with "love." My firt occured in grade two. I was seven years old and she was six and in grade one. I remember her like it was yesterday. Thank you. Love and peace to you,

Regis

The tender emotions of first love...ah, I remember them well. We all have a special place where these memories dwell, to be revisited sometimes with a blush or a smile.
peace and love dear friend, Carole~
