Interesting how we equate British and American stars with the decadent glory of the old Med. These may be the best or worst place to live depending on the next volcanic eruption.

these lines are opulent with sumptuous imagery and lavish with a cornucopia of ideas that take the mind, literally, to The Stars and back again, Jon. This decadent old world creaks along on her ageing trolley, complaining all the while of gout and of how "things ain't what they used to be", when all it takes is just one brilliant, over-whitened smile of Grace of Cary to transport her back again and banish all regret... In the meantime (and in the midst of all our escapism), it is STILL "more darkness the world is fighting for" as the sands run through our fingers or explode from Icelandic volcanoes floating miles through British airspace. Yep, tonight after over 36 hours, all flights here are still cancelled and grounded... Dear old Earth is having the last laugh, Hollywood or no Hollywood! And can we tell which is which these days?

Forgive the ramble but your MAJOR effort here inspired me to drool! :)) Thank you so much for carrying the baton on and I'm thrilled that others as well as myself are taking up the NaPoWriMo challenge in some shape or form. Clever in its random thoughts that always chases the cob webs away from my sleepy mind as I try to ponder a useful comment but somehow always seem to fail. Worthy of Princes Kate's addition to this month of poetry she has embarked on and is succeeding in carrying us along and stirring our gray matter.

Panoramic and comprehensive with great imagination and depth of understanding of not only location but of feeling and attitude, Jon; the final four lines have majesty of thought and are a well-expressed lesson.
