This poem was conceived in August of this year. It is dedicated to a very creative and multi-talented artist in the authors den, Sage Sweetwater.

sageness

eyes deep set Prussian blue

her wrap magenta saffian

both contradicting her gifts

from fields and avenues

they journey to her in search of

wisdom beyond her years

sage to valleys hills near

far and wide

she brews prairie green tea

at her throne serves

steamy liquid of wisdom

lore and intellect collide

from one pot energy rising

to break the bread of peace

comfort anger’s vengeful ways

bright of day dark of night

she mediates those struggling

within their inner circles

of values and perceptions

tainted with ego and lust

born of man’s ugly dust

she who ministers

to the measures of mankind

sageness in hands out reached

Jon,
You honour Sage as she should be honoured - great writing for a great artist. This is not just 'beautiful' tribute, it's rich in the truth and totally justified.
Fine fine work.

My heart is deeply stirred and touched when Den-family members are tributed in such thoughtful, insightful, beneficient and magnificent works of poetry, Jon. It is wonderful to see the many facets of another dear one so reflected in and upon, and it brings into sharp relief my own appreciations of the wonder that is Sage. Just love this poetic kinship embrace that is more than worthy and more than deserved. Bless you both. And thank you. xx

Dear Jon Michael,

I absolutely love it! I am so very honored that you wrote this poem 'sageness' and dedicated it to me and my namesake. This is a high honor and I'll tell you why. First of all, in this beautiful poetry, I feel a great deal of directed atonement in the right energy. All the lines in your poem have great meaning to me perceived of a social issue of justice, but this line is particularly powerful to even the notion of righting a wrong of so much I have personally written.

"from one pot energy rising
to break the bread of peace
comfort anger’s vengeful ways"

Jon Michael, do know this is a turn of events that most certainly will cast some thought around these Christmas and Pagan days of the Goodwill of man! You're the best my friend!

Love and Sincere Gratitude,
Sage
