On a journey.

ar ar dturas

the sands shift in unordered symbolism

fates tiptoe around the chasms of chance

while romance waltzes, sambas ala sirocco

all are we nomads of time’s grainy caravan

searchers, seekers of supportive ideology

melody and mood our spirited soul’s étude

the clock wears an eerie eye not to be denied

with the sweep of its hand here and gone

split with laser proficiency nary an emotion

furor and commotion our comedic attempt

to disguise what we are too unwise to know

crusty demon crystalline sands shift fortunes

grant me audience with omnipotent wisdom

YOU ARE SO RIGHT, JON - LIVING IS NOT EASY. IT IS ONLY WITH THAT 'OMNIPOTENT WISDOM' FROM ABOVE THAT WE CAN 'STAND THE STORMS' AND PRESS ON. THE WORD SAYS, '...IF ANYONE LACKS WISDOM...ASK....'. YOU ARE WISE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...

Jon,
You push past your own boundaries time and time again. Strong imagery in this poem, too.

Your vivid and powerful imagery serves very effectively to emphasize the theme that you share via your verses, Jon. Thank you, my friend. Love and peace to you,

Your profound journey into life's mysteries,Jon, make for splendid poetry. Though I know very little of what the title means, or what John quoted, this poem sings arias from a poets soul!

I have no ideaer of the title, but the poem speaks volumes of the human comedy, tragedy, if you will. One of your best, if not the best, of your work thus far.

mystical and magical are your words here, introduced to us by your tantalising title: I can almost see the gleam of copper pans and here them tinkle against each other as that oh-so-visual caravan rocks and rolls its way across the desert roads of time's journey. I wish I knew of the Rinne tu lyrics of which John also speaks - Gaelic is like honey to the ears and the words weave a spell... I would love to see this translated, written in illuminated lettering, like the Book of Kells... such is the journey your words send me on here, Jon, through sands of time and space... Lovely! xx

In your wisdom and erudition, Jon, you have created
a masterful work of art, no less. The last stanza alone
is worth the price of admission. -gene.

We pour into the future...our one second at a time...leaps into being what can't be left behind. Life is the soul possession of the living. The runners that hit the line.

Jon,
I feel the time sifting through the hour glass, but it is time that makes us thinkers. This is a wise poem. I hope you submit it for publication.

Sailing on the living waters, while sands of time shift neath your feet, then your feed become sand, then will you know and have audience with all there is, for wisdom is, in all there is, and all there is, has audience all the time, you pray for a snipped of it translated to share in words, a grant audience indeed. I think the beauty is, the Gaelic tongue, Yours, has already had some audience, as far as I can see. Great work of beauty and insight Jon!

Gaelic I not understand but John has a handle on it. The many faces of time are worn on each of us and our inner workings is what makes us tick.

'Rinne tu' lyrics may have inspired this, methinks:

Seolaigh me an uisce beo
Eist le fuaim an ghaoth
Neartaigh ar ar dturas me
Tusa liom go deo

your rendered response, Jon, is an emotional and poetic leap
that anyone reading will savour, not just this irish nomad, 'grainy caravan searcher';
final stanza challenges, a thinker's declaration, a poet's wish.

John
