Stunning, and a subject by which I am endlessly fascinated. Lines that live eternal are here: "communication a mission riding hope" and "truth is a dagger of engagement / sheathed in principle and justice"... how this truism ACHES!! How many of us, beneath the mask, are actually seeking to engage with TRUTH AND REALITY at all costs, yet our social/moral scales mete out intolerable weights of "principle" and "justice" in their stead?! What heart-truths still lie painfully sheathed, buried beneath our Mores masks that foster social conformity and pretense... Oh I feel this one!! :)) xx

i see intertwined sinews here, Jon,
what we put out as truth and communication
are really falsehoods woven and spun for agenda,
exposed for what they are in light, but how often
and how well does the light shine? i feel we are
in times of blindness, fed too much at once to
baffle and overwhelm us.
You set me off, My Friend, and i'm the better for
your sharp, honed work.

Your grasp of the subject is startling...my mind conjured up images of sabers and scabbards and old Generals on horse back still believing in posturing and gesturing to frighten their opponents...

What a masterful poem!
"Communication a mission riding hope" is just a beautiful line!
I too long for honesty, urgently, and often within myself where it can hide, and there is always an urgent pull to get to that light.

It seems truth is kept in its sheath when it comes to politics as the one way I know a lie is when I hear some politicians open their mouth.
Justice is another mangled word these days. Good one Jon

The whole image is like what you see of a fountain pen's ink upon the paper and water is spilled running the ink and smearing the text where it is then masked and covered up no longer seeing the legibility of the "psyche"...Masquerade is very articulately communicated Jon...be well.
