My park bench observations.

the exerciser

wet black exercise garment
 leaves imagination no room
for expression or rebuke
her lines flow gracefully
nape to nape curvaceous sweeps
 groin to nipple and shoulder

a ruse of sensuous attraction
willfully worn to harness, highlight
her prideful arsenal of flesh
milky skin voluptuously formed

daily she debuts her goods
a jogging path guided by exposure
converging amid the gentry
of gathered park peacock watchers

newspaper clutching business men
drooling senior bench devotees
teenage school boys on lunch break
she is the “Times” classified section
the senior bencher’s trembling crutch
the brown bagging lad’s testosterone

passion and imagination afoot
low tech billboard searching DNA exposure
spun bonded elastomer shimmering brighter
than neon in the high noon sun’s glow

Jon,

I've just been turned on to your work by a posting from one of our fellow DENMATES (Gene Williamson) wherein he was wishing you a happy birthday.

I've only read 3 or 4 of your works, but I find them to be outstanding. Just wanted you to know that Gene's comments brought me on board, but your works have sold me. Count me as a new fan. I'll be checking out more of your works in the near future.

Thanks Dick

Jon,

Looks like you were doing some 'sight seeing'. Very descriptive. Great poem.

I love the metaphor about the "Times", Jon. A vivid scene you've painted here. Great work!

This smoulders, Jon,
in both direct expression and suggestion;
the writing's tight, no wastage, and the phrasing
superior with top drawer word choices..
the second last stanza is masterly, "Times"
classified section and all.
Yes!

SOMEONE CAUGHT YOUR EYE AND THE 'VISION' BECKONED TO YOUR GIFT, WHICH READILY RESPONDED WITH DESCRIPTIVE PHRASES THAT HAS PRODUCED 'FANTASTIC' IMAGERY. THANKS FOR A GREAT SHARING, DONE WELL. LOVE, BLESSINGS & FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I'd like a front row bench to observe this exercizer, Jon.
But then you've already put me front and center in these
beautifully--and I underscore beautifully--crafted lines.
Especially those opening lines which make this old guy wish
he were not this old guy. Perhaps more to the point, my
friend, you have fashioned a poem of such marvelous imagery
that I'll file this in my library to read and re-read again
and again. Thanks for the memories. -gene.

Wow Jon, I didn't know you knew my girlfriend. Next time you see her mention me and you will get a wry smile and a sigh.
"Ahhhh Walt," she'll say, with those dreamy eyes turned skyward, thinking of last night and the unspeakable passion we shared.
And if you believe this I have some land in Southeast Georgia to sell you. It's right next to a state park called Okefenokee, and it is dry sometimes...........LOL

You have captured the lust of all ages and a willingness of the young and beautiful to provide the necessary titillation that has really nothing to do with exercise except that the real thing burns many more calories than the simulated ether wave billboards.

Your powers of observation and reporting are second to none in this regard.

I could see you sitting on your bench watching this one run by...and your mind taking a snapshot image to use as inspiration for this write. I often wonder why jogging suits etc are designed the way they are and with the materials that they use...wouldn't lose baggy cotton be cooler but alas what do I know...I am a walker and a talker. lol

All bundled up safe and secure, this package of allure, I bet as you said, it raised more then an eyebrow, it looks best on the fairer sex, this all revealing spandex, but you should not mention it, you're giving secrets away, ha, Bless ya, yea great imagery as Christine said.
