Shackles

Iam where Iam, because I choose to be.

There are no chains on me
Though some may think so bold
Watching me live my life
Doing as Iam told

 

I have some free advice

I challenge you to a dare

Cast you shackles to the ground

And live, life without a care

 

Who needs all these man made rules?

That change from day to day

I say it here and I say it now

Love is the only way

 

You can cast your cynical grin

You can lock me in a cage

There are no locks that can hold me down

For, Iam words written on a page

in the effort of your words to be free and to be love, they told me (the reader) I was cynical...so I laughed

Glad you have no holds on you. I am trying to live truly free too. Don't worry as much, want to be free to do as I wish when I wish, want my dreams to come true, and live a good life til I die. I do so love this poem. Says much to me too and gives me inspiration to be free.
