Burst Those Bubbles

Marriage can be hard and sometimes painful. Don't give up on it, pull together and you'll get through.

Burst Those Bubbles

Why does love have to be so painful?

We could do with an easier road.

One that wouldn’t be so stressful,

One with someone to share the load.

I always thought that marriage would be,

A sharing of all life’s troubles.

But being married as long as I have,

Surely burst all those tiny bubbles.

I see so many troubled pairs,

That try everything they can.

But in the end their troubles drown them,

And leave them feeling bland.

When the excitement is gone,

It gets so much worse.

You have to work harder,

So your bubble won’t burst.

Some make it through to the good times,

Some make it through all the bad.

Taking all life throws at them,

And coming out of it relieved and glad.

Why are some couples so troubled?

Why can’t they all have it great?

Is it because of some dark cloud?

Or is the reason someone’s mate?

Dear Bonnie, Brought back memories of my husband Tom, we got along great the last year of his life, cause I watched him go downhill. so fast since Feb 07 til Aug 17, 07. Missing him and reading your poems fit right in and cheer me up. I read some other author's but still think yours are the best yet. Love, Lois C.
