Confiding In the Walls
Here he is just standing there so quiet and so small,
He looks like he is whispering and confiding in the wall.
Wish I could hear his whispers; wish that walls could speak.
Would I want to hear it or would I be too meek.
Does the naughty thing he did justify his fate?
Will he realize what he did or will he be irate?
He is now confiding, in the wall in front of him,
Telling it the things he feels and how things looks so grim.
If he only knew how hard it is, to punish him like this,
When all I really want to do is give him hugs or kiss.
But he must learn some lessons to help him out in life,
He must be respectful to get him through the strife.
I’d gladly take his punishments but he would never learn,
To be the man that he can be, I must be very stern.
The walls are now his confidant, hearing much more than I.
Was the punishment worth it, when I was the only one who cried?
Written for Michael, who was being punished & put in a corner.
Perfect pic and poem - one terrific write my dear friend!!
