Try to remember the first time you saw your child or grandchild. This was my memory.

Pathway To The Sky

Looking at this precious gift that surely came from God.

Gave a new meaning to the word called love.

My heart filled with emotion, I thought it would burst.

This is our grandchild, and she is our first.

The longer she's here the more I see,

Just how and why she's so precious to me.

The days we're down and down real far,

She’s like our beacon and shooting star.

We're lifted up every time she's there.

We can't help thinking, this child's real rare.

She has my eyes, the same color blue.

Dimples on her elbows, where my mom had them too.

She has her papa's mom's courage, and my grandmother's smile.

Which makes her so rare, for they’ve been gone awhile?

It's at this time of our lives, we begin thinking

Of the pathway to the sky.

We begin questioning, Will we be remembered

In the days gone by?

Now I know and understand what makes this child dear.

She's to carry on that part of us, when we're no longer here.

If I could tell her one thing, then this is what I'd say.

"I love you more than life itself, and you truly make my day."

You are our little masterpiece, the best we had to give.

And you will be so special, as long as you shall live.

When that day comes and Granny takes that pathway to the sky.

Don’t mourn for me or cry, for you now and always will be,

The twinkle in my eye.

She is your precious gift and is growing up so nicely. What wonderful things Grandchildren bring to us and do for us and they are a joy to behold from birth to wherever they go from then on. So nice to be able to watch them grown in sprit truth and wisdom.

What a chubby little darling! She is beautiful, and I know how you feel about her! I was overwhelmed when my first grandchild was born. It was as though I fell in love that day, with a new little baby boy! I hope you get to spend lots of time with her.

Love,
Connie
