When I look at pictures of Jesus on the cross, I can't help thinking?

What Was HE Thinking?
 
 
I wonder what our Lord was thinking,
When they nailed HIM to the cross?
With the pain HE suffered; all the blood HE shed and lost.
I also think of Mary, watching HER SON endure such pain.
Why did they have to torture HIM, what did they have to gain?
 
HE was such a gentle man and the son of God above.
HE only brought God’s teachings, along with all God’s love.
Why then did HE have to die, in order to set us free?
Not one bit of hesitation did HE have,
HE died for you and me.

Christ is the way Creator put sin to death,and we are the ones who benefitted from it! Excellent poem,Bonnie!

Father, why has thou forsaken me. Yet God the father did not, it was the sacrifice of his son in saving the souls of the many....

Oh, Bonnie! I sit here crying as I am typing. His death. His resurrection ... for you and me! But I am crying for me. It reminded me of seeing my 3 sons through their terminal illnesses and their deaths. There was nothing I could do to alter the process. My only consolation is that God gave them to me to bring me closer to Him. I truly believe this. Thank you for your love filled words!

Never could understand why He was treated so cruelly by the Roman soldiers. But it had to come to pass to fulfill what was written in Scripture.

The immensity of the though is so mind-boggling that no meditation or mea-culpa can bridge it between Him and us.

He was thinking of our sins, taking them with Him on the Cross. Powerful picture and write of ultimate Love! Very well penned, Bonnie; brava!
