I thought peer pressure was tough when we were young but nothing like our children and grandchildren have now. This is for my Grandson, Zack who is a special young man and a true leader.

Poem Artwork

Love Yourself Enough!

Do you feel you’re pressured to do things you don’t want to do?
Do you get your feelings hurt when someone bullies you?
Do you feel stressed saying things you don’t mean?
Are you embarrassed by your friends when you’re publicly seen?

Love yourself enough to say no, to those that don’t really matter.
Love yourself enough, not to climb up the social ladder.
Be yourself and trust in God to make the proper assumptions.
Trust your heart to tell you, have the proper gumption.

Don’t let others lead you, where you don’t want to go.
If you feel that they are wrong, strongly tell them so.
There is nothing worse in life, than to be led astray.
For it is so much easier, trusting in God’s way.

Be a leader, for that is what you were born to be.
Lead friends in the right direction and stay close to thee.
Trust in God, that’s all there is, to let you know what’s right.
And you will have peace inside, when you go to sleep at night.

There are so many wise, good young people...it's a pleasure to read about Zack. Most news headlines don't always report the good youth of today, sadly just the bad.
Hey, Zack! You hold your head high!

Important message. It's much easier for young people to fear their peers' teasing and to give in. But the price later is so often steep! Cheers for your grandson and his wisdom!
