My brain did die but apparently my cranky heart is still alive.

Moses Died Again

For me. Moses just died again and went to the heavens above.
It hit me so hard with the feeling of loss and the loss of someone I loved.
When I close my eyes, it’s Charlton Heston representing Moses to me.
Since I was a child, it’s been this man that set his people free.

It’s his voice I hear when I hear the words, “Let My People Go,’
His people were freed for God said, “Let it be so”
And when he parted the Red Sea my heart cheered with delight.
For his people were now safe and they all went into the light.

I know he was just an actor but he played his part so well.
I really believed it when he stood there, and the waters began to swell.
I’ll miss you Mr. Heston and for all that you gave.
To me, you brought Moses alive, like he arose from the grave.

When someday I meet the real Moses on that heavenly shore.
I’ll ask him what he thought of you, and I bet he says, “MUCH MORE”.

I agree with you Bonnie, and this is a great tribute to Him,one I think he would love! He was a fine actor in many roles, but made Moses come to life for us, and will be missed!

Eileen

Charlton Heston--an unusual name and an unusual person. His acting was of such high caliber (apologies to gun opponents), and as one newscaster pointed out, he accepted roles in great films. I think I had a crush on him since I first saw him in a movie. My favorite was "Ben Hur."
How like you to write a poem in his honor, Sis; good job!
Love, Connie

But Bonnie, what did he said about taking away his gun from his cold dead fingers...I saw him as Moses too, although, there wasn't a Remington but a wooden staff, I thing he is going to have a lot of explaining when he meets with the real MacCoy.

Very loving, very touching, very beautiful. For what you've done as a tribute to a brilliant man has revealed itself to be a miracle to all who were blessed to hear it. For in your beauitiful words, both Moses and Charlton Heston have risen to take a bow in your poem. Thank you so much for this blessing.

Bonnie,

One thing Charleton Heston possessed was a commanding voice - if I had been Pharoah, I would have let his people go. He will be missed - a beautifully moving tribute to a Hollywood legend, very well penned.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

Oh this was heart touching and yes I can truly understand the message in your lines shared. Definately true he did bring Moses alive, he had such a powerful and commanding voice (he lived in and through ever line he spoke in this movie). There will never be another Mr. Heston~farewell.

Continued blessings to you Bonnie,
~Gwendolyn

Heard Charlton was a hero. The world will miss him and his talents as well but we hope that similar brilliant actors will come along to make films of landmark values.

Heard that Charlton Heston had died; he was one of the class acts of Hollywood; he will be sorely missed by all who watched his movies (including myself).

Beautiful tribute!

(((HUGS))) and much love, your friend in Tx., Karen Lynn. :(

He was sort of an icon, wasn't he? Part of our culture that will never be erased as long as people watch films. Thanks for sharing this.
