The Stranger in the Room!
Your house is now empty, your children all gone.
The empty nest syndrome must not live on.
You look at the stranger across the room.
Who is this man and you feel such doom?
All of your energy went into your kids and little to the man in the room.
Now as you stand looking at him, he could be the man in the moon.
How could you have let this happen, he was your whole world years ago?
When did you lose touch with him and where did all those years go?
You must try to remember this stranger and remember his hugs and his kiss?
You’ve got to reconnect with this stranger and find out what you have missed.
You are now two different people with both going along your own way.
You seem to have nothing in common and you find you have nothing to say.
Try getting out those very old albums and reviewing your wedding day.
Hopefully those wonderful old memories will give you plenty to say.
There was a force stronger than you that tied both of you two together.
It was a bond so taut and strong because God tied the tether.
So keep searching for the memories, it is certainly worth the chase.
And you will know when you find it,
When you see that old smile come on this stranger’s face.
