I Would Be a Nothing!
Fathers are a blessing; they have strength, courage and are very wise.
They pick you up when you fall down and have a hanky for you eyes.
I had a very special Dad that was everything a Father should be.
He was honest and resourceful and took great care of me.
A Father should have courage to live his life with integrity.
I had that kind of Father, God picked him out for me.
Dad never told me anything that he did not believe.
He never asked me to do anything,, that wouldn’t benefit me.
He was such a strong and sturdy man, in spirit and in mind.
He was always there to guide me when I was in a bind.
He had little education but he was very bright,
He helped me do math problems that would have taken me all night.
I could have looked this whole world over and I‘d have never found.
A better Father to have in life, he made me safe and sound.
He taught me so many lessons, which even Socrates wouldn’t understand.
He taught me to give to others and make a difference in this land.
He never told me to do something, that he himself wouldn’t do.
His belief in God and compassion always came shinning through.
I remember the feeling of waiting for my Dad to get home.
And when that door flew open, I no more felt alone.
I have no idea who I would have been, without him standing by.
I would never have had the courage, to believe that I could fly.
There is nothing you can’t do if you give it all you’ve got,”
Was Daddy’s favorite saying, it really helped a lot.
God surely knew what he was doing, when he sent this man to me.
For without him there, I would be a nothing, with no integrity.
