This was the only poem I wrote this summer and I wanted to share it with you. The picture isn't near as beautiful as seeing it with your own eyes but it will give you an idea on just how beautiful it is.

My Wishing Tree

I stumbled upon you lying there one day, as I leisurely walked around.
Never did these old eyes expect to see, the treasure I had found.
I’ve heard the saying throughout life that, “Only God can make a tree,”
But never did I understand it, until you brought me to my knees.

There you were just lying there with your pinecones clinging still.
Your beauty was so extraordinarily magnificent, totally surreal.
Those branches were shimmering silver in all your glory lying there.
Your silver branches reaching to the heavens as if you were in prayer.

So I also said a prayer, when I heard a pinecone drop in front of me.
Did it fall from you because I made a wish and you’re a wishing tree?
Everyday you drew me near, to pray for inspiration I would need.
And the pinecones continued falling which led me to believe.

That so many prayers and wishes were granted throughout many years.
My loved ones have no idea how many were to dry their lonely tears.
God must have loved me with all his heart. to let me find you lying here.
On our mountain land we love so much, where there’s no strife or fear.

I can only imagine how glorious you were while life still ran through you.
Proudly standing there, protecting those from the violent winds that blew.
How spectacular you must have been, more powerful than any tree around.
For you still are the most beautiful tree I’ve ever seen lying on the ground.

There’s one wish I’ll ask of you, while there’s one pinecone clinging on.
“That’s to grant just one last wish for me when my day is done.”
“Please let my ashes fly far and high totally soaring free.”
“Guide them to a safe place beneath my Wishing Tree.”

This is so picturesque and lovely. Serenity is a gift that comes when you meditate on God, and the things He has done, instead of fretting over circumstances. This is a special, beautiful story-poem that inspires me to thank God for all He created. How wonderful to have that one spot that becomes a haven of peace!

Love,
Your Sis Connie

It's good to have you posting on the den again. I have been very busy on the den while you were vactioning in the mountains. Hopefully you will feel better again now you are home and start to write those magnificent writes you are famous for. This one is very good and entertaining. Yes, we should all have a wishing tree to be near us and to have a wish to make on it too You always find something in nature wherever you are. So inspiring a person you are.

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
