Sometimes They’re Not Forever
What do you do when a God given gift is gone?
One that you had your whole life long.
God loaned me many gifts and many real fine,
Some to get me through for just a short time.
He’d always find a way to help me to achieve,
All the things he wanted for me to be.
One time it was painting, knitting and computers,
He did it without aids or even teachers or tutors.
Did you ever accomplish things and didn’t know how?
Something so spectacular more than fate allows.
Did you ever wonder how it all came to be?
If you have, you’re a lot like me.
If God wants you to achieve something real grand.
He provides a way and takes hold of your hand.
When you no longer need it sometimes it flees.
Then he provides another to provide for your needs.
But this time I really miss the gift that he gave.
It helped me to get through when things were so grave.
I find that writing no longer comes effortless you see.
Did he take it away to teach a lesson to me?
Sometimes gifts are not forever and you must adjust.
Sometimes you don’t miss them or make quite a fuss.
But sometimes it’s painful and hurts to let them go, And
It touches your heart more than you know.
I’ll trust and I’ll pray that he will return it someday.
So I can tell you what my heart wants to say.
All the things in my heart are bursting to flee,
So I'll keep on writing hoping he'll take pity on me.

Love ya, Poet!

Hadn't thought of it this way, but you're right: right now, I'm grateful for being alive this beautiful morning, for the breath in my body, for the words to write. Know they won't last, but until then, I'm going to praise Him for what He's given! Excellent, my (((friend))).
(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.
