Sleep Will Not Come!

I think we've all gone through periods of sleepless nights as I did.

Sleep Will Not Come!
 
Sleep will not come so there has to be something deep inside.
That is locked in your sub-conscious from where you can not hide.
It must be something very appalling that you can not face awake.
So it comes out in your sub-conscious and your gentle sleep it takes.
 
You may not understand the reasons or the thoughts that bother you.
You only know there’s something there, you must fully work through.
It’s usually the first thing you think of when you begin to explore.
Then you stop your searching because these thoughts hurt you more.
 
No, don’t stop your burrowing until you finally get to the heart.
Even if it’s something very hurtful, and something very dark.
For when you unearth it & expose it, you bring it into the light.
And you will find your sleep again with your dreams gleaming bright.

Well I sure relate to this one too... I suffered from insomnia for over 25 yrs... and it's lessened the last few years, altho I still have way too many sleepless ones still... at least tho...I don't take meds for it anymore, and it seems I'm better for it... :-)))) Perhaps this is where alot of "our" writing comes from...our subconscious...??? Great work as usual... lindalaw

I am a poor sleeper but lately when cooler i can sleep better. I really do enjoy your writes here on the den.

Glad I don't have that problem; I can take one or two naps a day and still sleep most of the night!! LOL I think I got bitten by the tsetse fly!! LOL

Sometines "Sleep" is like a plane that has to hover around until it gets landing clearance from the tower. Great poem

When, long in between, occasionally I can't sleep, I put my self about three hundred yards from a fence and when the lambs come jumping over and me being an old ex-Marine sniper and all.....
Now, if this story of mine don't make you asleep...
