“You took me out of your schools, as your children grew.”

“You’re trying to remove me from your currency with me still here.”

“You’re taking me out of Christmas in all your Xmas cheer.”

“No, my precious child, it’s not me who wasn’t there for you.”

“For I’ve kept all my promises, it’s something I always do.”

“It is you who have left my safety and my tender loving care.”

“Always going on without me in your defiance & your dares.”

“So my children don’t blame me for your world’s dismay.”

“Because I’ve been right here waiting, every single day.”

“If just once you’d free me from the shackles that I bear.”
