I have tried many ways of living in this world, but I always come back to my home base.

Poem Artwork

Anxiety Stew

When you get knocked down with the trials of life.

And you’ve had enough of the news and the strife.

Go to your kitchen and mix up some Anxiety Stew.

Put all your troubles in it and all the anxiety too.

Stir it until it thickens using a gigantic spoon.

And sing a song of happiness, a special happy tune.

Take the pot to the sink; pour it out nice and slow.

Watch the strife disappear as down the drain it goes.

Don’t you wish it were that easy to find peace inside?

But there is an easy way, if you just swallow your pride.

Get down on your knees and pray to HIM above.

And pick up that Bible and read of God’s love.

this is a terrific recipe Bonnie May -- you need to publish it along with a normal book of recipes -- let the light of love grow within your heart -- JMW

Great thoughts expressed herein! Last week, as a family, we started reading scriptures every night. It has amazed me just how prominent the theme is that we should ASK...and it shall be given us... Maybe it is just what I need to hear right now. Scriptures have a way of emphasizing what we need to hear each time we read them...pretty cool, isn't it??

A good stew recipe. Know it works. Must put my aloneness down the drain again too. Any help I get is beneficial to me. And my thinking is sort of way off again today maybe dueto the dreary weather the last few days. Thanks Bonnie for inspirations of wellness.

I love the analogy Bonnie. Thank you for this one. It's a good reminder of the part God wants to play in our lives if ony we will let Him.

Gratefully I have had my anxiety quota already filled up. Next stew will be a scottish mutton stewing it very very slowly until the meat gets butter texture and adding in the pot belly cauldron............

"Don’t you wish it were that easy to find peace inside?" -- it IS that easy. You see, we slow-cook our own anxieties, spicing it with fears and doubts, and we cook it down until it becomes a depression/fear gumbo which would kill us if eaten. I like the remedy/recipe in your poem. It works every time :-)

Ted
