We shouldn't judge ourselves too harshly! Be more gentle, and don't follow cold logic. Do your best, and let it rest!

Sandie is right, in that we are often are own worst critics. We'll never measure up to our (warped) sense of perfection, because we don't know what that is. We can be Christians, the devil tells us lies that we are less than when God tells us we're co-heirs, brothers (sisters) created in His image. Who we gonna believe? An excellent message in these lines! Well done.

I think in most instances we are our own enemies. Once we know how to let God be our judge and trust that He will forgive us and lead us from darkness. Sometimes the darkness are created by ourselves.
