Sticky Me

I’m sticky from all the sap that I have been spreading

During this Valentine season I’ve been getting

Way too caught up in the passion and romance

I need to splash water on my face and break this goofy trance.

I am in love with love and brimming full of it you know

I think of it and talk of it wherever I may go

But even I have had enough of sweetness sugary

My next advent might be less intense…like a cat up in a tree.

And then again, I might forsake my plans to lay it down

For every day in every way his love is my surround

Though a short vacation from sappy poetry might be what I need

I might lose that prescription to the sweet tooth that I feed.

My pen is stronger than I am and so I must confess

Although I may be suffering from post romantic stress

There is no other way you see, that I would rather be

The lover is the romantic is the deepest part of me.

The romantic in me feeds on all the sap surrounding Valentine's Day. I love it. It gives me another excuse to shower my husband with an expression of the love that I have for him. I loved the honesty in this poem.

God bless you. Kathy

...this pen spells romance...all wrapped up...in a heart shaped box...tied with red ribbon...not a bad thing.
