Something woke me

I know not what

I lie beside him

Listening to him breathe

I watch him slumber

Peacefully

And I marvel

That I am so blessed

To have him in my bed

In my arms

In my life, in my heart

Something woke me

When he came along

I was half dead

In a pain induced coma

Of my own deliberate choice

I had all but given up

On life, on love

On believing

Nightmares my

Constant

Companion night and day

Until You woke
