Beyond the Light

We walk many miles
in silence
and listened to nature,
birds and crickets chirped
as the sun warmed
the damp day.

With one glance at each other
words we wanted to say
fell wayside to eyes that saw
reflections of desire awake,
willed by intuition
we reached for each other.

You held my chin in the palm of your hand
and kissed me with love
penetrating my fear.
The intensity sheared  a flare of  white light
and in that moment of birth,
"we" became "us".

Light that was white now shimmered
with fiery ambers,
swirling slowly
lifting us to a place above the stars.
It was there, we were freed
to love with our all.
