When Silence is Broken

I never knew the extent
to which you would go for a friend,
until we were no longer
on terms of endearment.

Silence filled voids that words could not.

And silence broke-
with your gesture, words from Yeats,

“How many loved you your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true ,
But one man loved  the pilgrim Soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;”

Sorrows swept into neatly folded linen,
and tearful eyes saw a new reflection;

how precious is your love....

Silence filled voids as words failed to convey my heart.

This seems almost sacred, such beauty and precious expression of love.
