Beyond Need

Beyond Need

I remember
the look in your eyes
that spoke volumes,
telling me everything
without words.

I remember
the smile that played upon your lips,
showing me inner warmth,
joy and desire.

I remember
movements of your body,
muscles that ripped,
the ones I traced with my eyes,
my mind, my soul.

I remember
feelings that exploded
searing beyond imagination,
leaving us to desire reality.

I remember everything about you.

I wonder
if you saw
raw emotions surface
in my eyes and smile
as I looked at you across the miles.

I wonder
if you felt
the same as I,
beyond desire, beyond need.

Need I say the words of my heart?

Can you see the tears I hide?
